The series opener will use the Green Deen wood area of the Mapledrham estate near Reading. This course features several sections of singletrack in deciduous woodland, short climbs and technical drops. Southern XC will be taking the best parts of 07 Pro Cup course and adding singletrack to create a more flowing and improved course.

Directions: Green Dean Wood is situated 7km North West of Reading off the A4074, between Chazey Heath and Cane End. The race venue is 1km from the main road and will be signed off the A4074.
From Reading, on A4074: Turn left in Mapledurham (signed to Caversham Heath Golf Club), go past golf club and over the next cross roads. The race venue is 400m on the right hand side, access is via Hodmore farm.

This course is characterised by woodland singletrack sections linked by fast open tracks. 2008 will see a reworking of the course and arena area. Southern XC have been given permission to utilise a new area of woodland, inreasing the amount of singletrack in the course. There will also be a new car park and arena setup running alongside the course increasing accessibility and viewing opportunities.

Directions: DLCP is situated 4km South West of East Grinstead.

From East Grinstead take the B2110 towards Turner's Hill. After 3km turn left towards National Trust Property Standen House, race access is then on right hand side.

From M23, exit Junction 10 direction Copthorne. At 2nd Roundabout turn right (B2028 Turner's Hill) At turner's Hill junction turn Left (B2110 East Grinstead). After 5km turn right, towards National Trust Property Standen House, race access is then on right hand side.

A classic singletrack course in the beautiful New Forest. Crow hill offers some fantastically fun and challenging singletrack in deciduous and coniferous woodland. 2008 will see a new course layout resulting in a clover leaf design to maximise spectating opportunities.

This venue will host the 2008 National XC Championships, the Southern Xc round provides the perfect opportunity for riders to inspect the course.

If you have Sat Nav use postcode BH24 3DB.
Leave A31 between Cadnam (end of M27) and Ringwood at Picket Post by the Services, follow signs to Burley. After 1 mile take 1st road on right to Crow just after the Burley sign. Follow road for approximately 1 mile and turn 1st left into Charles's Lane.

Access roads will be marked but entrance to camp site only is down 1st track under 50 yards on the left just by the cattle grid sign. Entrance will be marked but also says 'Valemoor' and there is a Caravan & Camping Club Certified Location sign at the entrance. Proceed carefully down this track, turn right after about ¼ mile by water tap and Elsan point. Follow sandy track beside woods to the far end and camping filed is on the right.

For the main entrance and parking continue on Charles's Lane over the cattle grid for a further approx 200 yards, entrance is a track into the wood on the left just past Gaddens Close Farm. Proceed carefully down the hill and the car park is at the very end on the left.

Back for 2008! A legendary venue from the SAMS series of old. Situtated on the edge of Salisbury Plain the Erlestoke venue has hosted SAMS rounds in the 90s and the classic Salisbury Plain Challenge. The course will make use of the ridge which runs the length of the venue to include tough climbs and trickyu wooded descents.

Everyone at Southern XC is excited at the prospect of returning to this venue.

Chawton Park Woods will again host the Southern Area Championships incorporated into round 5 of the Southern Series. This venue has promised so much over the last 2 years but has been slightly hindered by unseasonal weather! The course is enclosed in deep woodland but also includes some very fast open tracks, tough draggy climbs and some fantastic bombholes.

This Championship round is a category D race - so shouldn't be missed by anyone on nthe hunt for National Ranking Points.

From Four Marks; Head towards Chawton/Alton on A31 for 2.5km, race site is on left hand side accessed directly from dual carriageway.
From Chawton/Alton; head towards Four Marks on A31, 0.5km after Chawton Roundabout race site is on right hand side and can be accessed through central reservation of dual carriageway. Please take extra care when entering/exiting the race venue.

Regarded by some as the most enjoyable course in the UK, the Bordon course is made up of fast flowing singletrack on well draining ground. There are some fast climbs, fast drops and even berms around Army trenches! A race that can't be missed.
