Giant's Defy Advanced platform offers true endurance bike performance, a responsive ride and a disc brake specific design. Advanced grade composite used to be the preserve of much more expensive models but Giant have brought it to lower price points offer the rider increased stiffness, lower weight and better compliance. Super thin seat stays and a D-Fuse composite seatpost gives excellent vertical compliance at the rear whilst the Overdrive fork steerer keeps the front end responsive and accurate. The Defy Advanced's acclaimed geometry gives an efficient, comfortable and sporting riding position which suits almost all body shapes.
The Defy Advanced 3's componentry is based around Shimano's Tiagra 20 speed groupset which features many technologies from its 105 big brother and a 11-32 cassette to help you on the toughest climbs. The Tiagra groupset looks stunning and is functionally superb.
For 2017 the Defy Advanced 3 receives Shimano's excellent RS405 hydraulic disc brakes offering excellent all weather performance at a pricepoint where less powerful cable disc brakes are the norm.
The Defy Advanced 3 is perfect for riders looking for excellent all weather control and real performance on challenging road rides or endurance events. Defy Advanced frames are Ride Sense ready and will accept Giant's Ride Sense ANT+ Speed/Cadence sensor in the concealed chainstay port.
