Giant's TCR Advanced Pro 1 Disc offers a Shimano Ultegra groupset as an upgrade over the TCR Advanced Pro 2 Disc.
Giant's TCR started the compact frame revolution over 15 years ago and almost all manufacturers have now followed suit taking advantage of the weight saving, stiffness and fit benefits given by the sloping top tube design. The TCR was a game changer back then and the latest TCR brings the bike back up to date taking advantage of all the latest technologies whilst retaining the great all round capabilities of this modern classic. Giant's TCR has race geometry and a race fit making it the perfect tool for riders looking for all round performance.
Giant's TCR Advanced Pro 1 Disc uses Advanced grade composite and has a full composite Overdrive 2 fork. The addition of the full composite Overdrive 2 fork on Advanced pro models not only reduces weight but improves steering stiffness and power transfer through the handlebars. Advanced Pro models come complete with a RideSense ANT+ speed/cadence sensor (sensor fitted upon request) and use Giant's complete wheelsystems.
The TCR Advanced Pro 1 Disc's componentry is based around Shimano's Ultegra 22 speed groupset which was revised for 2018 offering many developments from the Dura Ace groupset and revised ergonomics. The TCR Advanced Pro 1 Disc is fitted with an 11-30 cassette and a semi compact Praxis Zayante carbon 52-36 chainset to give you a great spread of gearing which is suitable for both fast flat riding and steeper climbs too. Braking is courtesy of Shimano's excellent full hydraulic Ultegra system with great new lever ergonomics and the brilliant modulation that is normal for Shimano systems. Compared to the rim brake version, the TCR Advanced Pro 1 Disc is better suited to wet weather conditions and more technical terrain.
Please note that due to supply problems from Shimano, Giant have upgraded the chainset of this bicycle to a Praxis Zayante carbon model from the factory.
Giant's SLR 1 Disc 42mm deep wheel system offers a full carbon rim laced into the hub using Dynamic Balanced Lacing spokes which maximize responsiveness and durability. The superlight carbon clincher rim's 42mm depth gives a great balance of aero and control. The SLR1 wheels and Gavia AC tyre are tubeless which offers a superior ride quality and puncture protection over a traditional inner tube setup.
The Giant TCR Advanced Pro 1 is a total all round performance bike and is ideal for a rider who is looking for a complete package for riding on mixed terrain.
Please note: This model features tubeless ready wheels and tyres which offer a superior ride and less rolling resistance than traditional innertubes. This system requires tyre sealant to function correctly and this will be fitted in our workshop prior to despatch. The nature of this sealant means that the tyre may not be fully sealed until it has been ridden a short distance and therefore the bicycle may arrive with reduced pressure in the tyres. Please check the bicycle's tyres are inflated to the recommended pressure before cycling. Should you wish for the bicycle to be supplied with inner tubes fitted rather being set up tubeless please contact us after placing your order.
IMPORTANT: This bicycle is supplied without pedals.
